Leo Garcia, 84, of Oak Harbor and Moses Lake, Wash., passed away on June 23, 2016.
Leo was born Feb. 20, 1932, in Alamogordo, N.M.
He married the love of his life Emma Borunda in September of 1950 in Carrizozo, N.M. Leo absolutely loved the outdoors and would often enjoy the mountains of his home state. Later, he would move his family to Moses Lake, where he would reside for 49 years.
Leo was known as a hunter and a fisherman and loved anything having to do with the outdoors. He also had a love for poetry and art. He worked as a carpenter and electrician and was a jack-of-all-trades. He had a passion for sharing his interests with those he loved.
In his later years, Leo moved to Oak Harbor, where he would live for 13 years until his passing. He absolutely loved the beauty of the island
Leo is preceded in death by his parents Edward Garcia Jr. and Lilly M. Phillips; his wife Emma; and brother Joaquin Garcia. He is survived by his brothers, Ted and Hector Garcia; children, Beradine DeLuna and Yolanda Jaramillo of Oak Harbor and Linda Carlos, John Garcia, Ted Garcia, Thomas Garcia and Orlando Garcia all of Moses Lake, and Ray Garcia of Ariz.; as well as 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A private service was held in Moses Lake, on Saturday, July 2, 2016. All arrangements entrusted to Wallin Funeral Home of Oak Harbor.
