Lucille M. “Lucy” Barnard, 73, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2003. She was blessed to go peacefully at home with her son Larry, caring for her faithfully to the end.

Born in Canada, she met and married her late husband Barney Bernard. They lived in Ferndale for a time and then moved to Oak Harbor in 1953. Lucy helped her late husband manage the American Legion Post No.129 and continued as bookkeeper for many years. She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 129.

Lucy is survived by her loving son Larry Barnard and many loving and caring friends. In keeping with her wishes, no funeral services will be held.

On Saturday, March 29, 2003, a toast, fair well drink and gathering will be held at the American Legion Post No. 129, Oak Harbor

Cremation was entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor, Washington.
