Marcia Dean Sawyer, 77, born in Kent, Ohio, on March 30, 1935, passed away July 2, 2012, in Cathedral City, Calif. She married David Marshall Sawyer on May 15, 1976 in Seattle. She was a member of Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor, Monterey Peninsula, and Palm Springs, Calif, and League of Women Voters of Oak Harbor. She was a volunteer for People Helping People in Cathedral City, Calif. and Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs. She was a retired bank manager for Security Pacific Bank in Carmel, Calif.

She is survived by her husband, David of Palm Springs; four sons, Jack and Stacy Evans of Washington, Eric Sawyer of Utah, and Larry Sawyer of Carlsbad, Calif; their wives; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marcia always loved volunteering and during her life took a leadership role in many of the organizations she was involved with. Her hobby was little theatre and decorating the many homes that she and David bought. She loved to travel and take on any adventure that presented itself.
