Marylouise Vracin

We are saddened to announce the passing of Marylouise Bader Vracin. She was born in Tacoma on October 10, 1917. Our sweet Mama passed quietly in her sleep in Oak Harbor on July 2, 2013.

She was the youngest daughter of Emil and Theresa Bader. She was a great tennis player, registered nurse and cancer survivor. She was also a medical missionary with her husband, Dr. Daniel Vracin, in Mexico, Thailand and Southern California. Her life revolved around her sweet husband, Danny (our Papa), their 10 children and she most certainly gave her day-to-day strength to deal with all of us kids! She will be dearly missed by all her family.

A memorial Mass will take place 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Coupeville with Rev. Michael O’Neil, Celebrant. Christian Burial Rites will take place in Huntington Beach, Calif. on July 19. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com
