Michael J. O’Dell, of Oak Harbor, died Nov. 4, 2005 at Whidbey General Hospital.
Mr. O’Dell was born in Los Angeles and was raised in Santa Barbara. He graduated from Bishop Garcia Diego Catholic High School and then attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. He entered the US Air Force, and served five years, stationed primarily in The Netherlands.
On April 9, 1988, he married Madonna Partridge in Fairfax, Marin County, Calif. They moved to Woodinville in November 1989, and then to Oak Harbor in November 2000. Michael was the owner-operator of Topiary Gardens and DeRuiter Company and served as a substitute teacher for the Coupeville School District, particularly at Coupeville Middle School and High School. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and tennis.
Michael is survived by his wife Madonna Partridge O’Dell; seven children, Arianna, Nicholas, Cady, Max, and Trevor, all of the family home, also, his daughters, Monique and Claudette of Northern California; cousins John Snetsinger of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Pete Snetsinger and wife Linda of Irvine, Calif., Richard Whited and wife Paula, and JoAnn Chenovick and husband Richard, all of Santa Barbara.
