Michael Warren Qualey, 47, of Longview, died August 17, 2005 at his home.

Mr. Qualey was born in Portland, Maine, on May 19, 1958, to Edward Qualey and Opal (Sowell) Qualey. Michael moved with his family as a small child to Charleston, S.C., where he attended schools, graduating from Fort Johnson High School. Michael had been a resident of Longview for nine years. He enjoyed collecting eagle paraphernalia as a hobby.

Michael is survived by his mother, Opal Meehan of Coupeville; father Edward Qualey; brother Gary Schwall of North Carolina; three sisters, Deborah Bibby and husband Dr. Chris Bibby of Oak Harbor, Patricia Wurthman and husband Edward and Pamela Hilton, all of Charleston, S.C.; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held. Visitation will be Saturday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel.
