Mildred “Millie” V. Tripp was born in Toppenish, Wash., on May 4, 1928, and died April 29, 2008, in Forest Grove, Ore. She graduated from Wapato High School and went on to St. Elizabeth Hospital nursing school and graduated in 1948. She was married in 1951 and lived in Hawaii, Washington, California, Alaska, Texas, Oregon, and in 1969, she moved back to Oak Harbor. She raised two sons and worked at Island County Courthouse until retirement. She enjoyed her grandchildren, lunch with friends, trips on the Senior Center bus and cruises to new places. She also enjoyed games of pinochle and watching the Mariners. Millie spent time volunteering at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, the Senior Center, Emblem Club and Friends of the library.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael and Steven Tripp, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
