Muriel Lindsay, beloved wife and mother, passed away Feb. 13, 2024 at her residence in Oak Harbor. She spent her childhood years growing up in Conway and, later, Mount Vernon, WA. She attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse, working at various facilities in Western Washington. She was a talented musician, starting violin lessons as a child, and performed with numerous community productions and with an orchestra in San Diego.
Throughout her life, Muriel was a joiner, giving much devotion and enthusiasm to the groups she belonged. The Ladies’ Democratic Club and the Emblem Club were better for having her as a member. In her later life, she became a Jehovah’s Witness and found comfort and companionship with the faith.
Her greatest accomplishment was maintaining a household and raising four school-age children on her own while her husband was on multiple long-term deployments. You did a great job, Mom!
She loved herfamily and was a proud grandmother. She always had a bright smile and a loving laugh for all of her grandchildren, even when they were sliding down stairs, hitting walls, or running amuck.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, and her daughter Sheryn Lindsay, and is survived by her sons George and Roy Lindsay as well as her daughter Linda. She was blessed with many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren even great-great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her love, grace and wit. She will never be forgotten.
