Noel J. Santos, beloved brother, father and friend, passed away in Coupeville on Nov. 2, 2009 of natural causes. Noel was born in Malabon Rizal, Philippines, on July 26, 1946 as one of 10 children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estrella Marquez Santos, of 34 years; survived by three children, Enjay, Noelle, and Noel; and four grandchildren, Xachariah, Nicolas, Junna, and Jason. Noel was instrumental in petitioning over 20 members of his immediate family.

Noel was a dedicated Filipino-American Association of Oak Harbor member and volunteer, an active member within his church, Bible study, and choir. Noel dutifully served his country in the U.S. Navy for almost 30 years, retiring in 1992. His passions included cooking and fishing. His other hobbies included working on cars and Ham Radio (AA7ST). Memorial services were held Nov. 5 at Southern Baptist Church in Oak Harbor.
