Noel Louis Morlock, 80, died on Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Oak Harbor. He was born on Nov. 29, 1935, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Adrian and Margaret (Noel) Morlock.
Noel moved to Oak Harbor as a young boy and went on to graduate with an M.D. degree from the University of Washington. He dedicated himself to neurophysiology research for many years before embracing a family practice in Oak Harbor.
Noel lived a life full of intensity and many passions such as a lifelong love for the unspoiled wilderness areas of the North Cascades. He had an insatiable curiosity of the world around him and immersed himself completely in a variety of subjects, driven primarily by his belief that the world could be a better place.
He was known for his fierce independence and integrity above all else. In the end…he did it his way.
Noel leaves behind a small group of family including his beloved wife of 39 years, Elizabeth, and daughter Jennifer.
Per his request, no services will be held.
Remembrances may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes and the San Juan Islands.
