Norma Jean Gearhart, 78, passed away on Dec. 24, 2015, leaving behind a large and loving family.

She was born in Lapeer, Mich., and her career as a Navy wife took her to many states. It was on Whidbey Island that she found her soul home.

Norma worked at Whidbey General Hospital for many years in the medical records department, and later on she worked for a medical records company named Medcor.

Norma Jean was a voracious reader and loved her garden and all the perinneals she had planted there. Spring was her favorite time of year. Also, she loved her dog “Jock” a west highland terrier.

She is survived by her children: Tanya White, Tamara Schaffer (Chris), Taryn Gearhart and Tim Gearhart (Amber), along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew her.
