Farewell to ballerina, poet, artist, seamstress, gardener, bibliophile, adventurer, mother, grandmother and so much more. Patricia A Philipp was one of a kind and everything she touched turned to gold.
Born in Detroit Michigan, she studied dance and art at Cranbrook School and then went on to pursue a ballet career in New York City. Patricia danced for a number of years with American Ballet Theater and toured Europe and Bermuda with Trudy Goth’s ballet company.
Later on in her life she studied at Stanford University and went on to study art with Richard. Diebenkorn, Frank Lobdel and Jerry Hatofsky at the San Francisco Art Institute where she was the first woman to graduate with a masters degree, summa cum laude.
Patricia passed away this year on May 26th at the age of 93 at her home on Whidbey Island.
She leaves behind her daughters, grandchildren, and son in law, all of whom will miss her inspired conversations about film, dance, literature, life and caring for our planet earth.
