With a heart as big as her laughter and a spirit as adventurous as her travels, Patricia Ann Seth-Tuttle passed away at home on Whidbey Island on February 1, 2025, at the age of 79. A beloved wife, sister, stepmother, aunt, and friend, Pat lived a life full of curiosity, kindness, and a touch of fuchsia lipstick.
She was born in Seattle, Washington, to Mitchell and Mery Seth. Pat grew up in Normandy Park alongside her sisters, Mary Jo and Peggy Lou. Pat graduated from Highline High School Class of 1963. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from the University of Washington Class of 1967—an achievement that fueled her life long love of language, culture, and adventure. After graduating college, Pat spent time with dear friends hiking the Pacific Northwest and backpacking through Europe.
In 1985, she met and married the love of her life, David Tuttle, and together they embraced the southern California sunshine. Pat played countless tennis matches, took trips to the Sequoia National Park, bonded with her stepchildren, and even had a brush with Hollywood fame when she and Dave and their weiner dog appeared on The Tonight Show with David Letterman—thanks to their delightfully uncooperative weiner dog race. A powerhouse in the corporate world, Pat shattered glass ceilings at Yamaha and Warner Bros. in the ‘80s and ‘90s, proving that intelligence and warmth make a formidable combination.
In 2001, Pat and Dave retired to the place she had always loved most—the Pacific Northwest. On Whidbey Island, she kayaked the scenic waters, volunteered at the lighthouse, and built cherished friendships through her prayer groups. Her love for all things French never wavered, leading to two dream trips in retirement exploring Paris and the French countryside. She also had a soft spot for the simple joys of life: a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl’s Jr., a good book, and the companionship of her beloved corgis.
Pat had a gift for making people feel truly heard, and her laughter—joyful, unfiltered, and unforgettable—had a way of filling any space with warmth. She was kind, wise, and always ready with a listening ear or a heartfelt hug.
She is predeceased by sister, Peggy Lou (Lloyd), and survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, David Tuttle; her sister Mary Jo (Emmett); stepchildren Aaron (Justin), Brandon (Haley), and Amber; two cherished bonus grandchildren, Jack, and Sierra; and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. A celebration of her beautiful life will be announced at a later date.
Rest easy, Pat. You were one of a kind, and your love, laughter, and signature fuchsia lipstick will live on in our hearts forever.
