Patricia “Patty” Green passed away at the home of her son in McKinleyville, Calif., where she had resided the past four years. Born in Missoula, Mont., on Jan. 30, 1941, she passed peacefully on Feb. 6, 2006 after an extended bout with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan “Gene” and Millicent Stratton, her brother Damon Curtis Stratton, her beloved sister Bev Krol, brother-in-law Charles Krol, and her lone great-grandchild Shae James Lang.
Patty is survived by her aunt “Toots” McCollum of St Ignatius, Mont.; the families of her sisters Sharon and Norm Parmelee of Kalispell, Mont., and Loretta Flesch of Tacoma; her nieces Suzie and Jess Grigg of Seattle, and Cyndie and Pat Poe of Vancouver, Wash., and nephew Doug Krol of San Francisco. She will be greatly missed by the families of her children: Guy and Kim Adams of McKinleyville, Don Adams of McKinleyville, Cindy Hanigan of Marysville, Wash., and Rory Adams of Oregon, as well as by her many friends and family in Montana, Washington and California.
Patty was raised in Missoula and spent most of her adult life in Coupeville. She was exceptionally talented at creating beauty and was well-known for her landscaping, sewing, cooking, and craft abilities. She always lived in a beautiful home regardless of her social status and loved to share with friends and family. She made friends easily and was quick to help when one was in need. She loved all holidays and usually a large gathering would be found at her home to celebrate them. She will be missed.
A reception will be held in Seattle this summer to celebrate Patty’s life. Those interested in attending are encouraged to contact Guy Adams by e-mail at wyzguy62@cox.net or by phone at (707) 839-1728. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice.
