Paul Lind, 84, was born in Brainerd, Minn., to Hilda and Ruben Lind. When he was three the family loaded up the Whippet auto and moved to Seattle.
While growing up, Paul and his mother would walk to Sicks Stadium and root for the Seattle Pilots. Paul loved all baseball, from Little League to major league, especially the Mariners.
He graduated from Franklin High in Seattle and in 1953 joined the U.S. Marine Corps, achieving the rank of captain during his 31- year career that included tours in El Toro, Calif.; Chu Lai, Viet Nam; and Whidbey Island. Following retirement from USMC, he earned an AA degree from Skagit Valley College then went on to retire from the Boeing Co.
Paul married Adela Gomez and they had three children. He later married Myrna Alvarez in the garden at the Waikiki Royal Hawaiian on May 24, 1980.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Bud, Warren and Allen; and first wife Adela. He is survived by his wife Myrna, daughter Theresa Naes, sons Christopher Cougar (Joy) Lind and Michael (Bridget) Lind, and grandson Dakota Lind.
Memorial with full military honors and interment were held at Maple Leaf Cemetery on Mar 20, 2019 under the direction of Wallin Funeral Home and Rev. Lura officiating.
