Reed Hendrickson

Mr. Reed G. Hendrickson, 50, of Oak Harbor died in Seattle on Dec. 6, 2004. He was born July 29, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Grant and Lylias Hendrickson. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1972. Reed served in the US Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer. His military service included service in Vietnam and the Gulf War.

Reed loved to cook, especially barbecuing, he also loved to fish and dance. Reed was an avid sports viewer and made sure to cheer for the M’s and Seahawks. He was an active member of the American Legion and of the NRA. His quick wit, sense of humor and selfless personality will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1970. He is survived by his mother Lylias of Bellingham, sisters Jana (Donis) Jeffs of Sedro-Woolley and Rae Ann (David) Westman of Bellingham, partner Diane Starker of Oak Harbor and nieces Amy (Tim) Buecking, Leanne Gentry and Kristin Westman, all of Bellingham. Family graveside services with full military honors presented by the American Legion Post No. 7, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15. A public memorial gathering will be held Wednesdsay, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m., at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway, Bellingham.
