Renato Atienza (Ray) joined his Creator and is now in heaven with the other angels. He was a beloved husband to Jopine, a loving father to Alpha and Ace, and a doting grandfather to his grandkids Thorin and Loki. Ray loved reading, writing and painting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Webster University. His first job was a research/systems analyst. He later joined the US Navy where he worked for twenty years, and then worked at Seattle Veterans Hospital for ten years. He was president of the Filipino-American Association of Oak Harbor from 1998-1999. Ray is a devoted Catholic. His funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine Church in Oak Harbor at 10:00 am on Wednesday January 29, 2025 at 10:00 am, followed by a reception at the church parish hall from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
