Rex E. Nelsen died suddenly Jan. 24, 2010, at his home in Jeffersonton, Va. He was born Sept 9, 1950, to Rex and Barbara Nelsen. He graduated form Oak Harbor High School in 1968. Rex proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. for over 20 years. Early in his career he had the honor of serving as a White House aide, were he meet and married his wife Suzanne who was is the Army serving as a White House aide.

Rex is survived by his wife Suzanne; daughters Vicki, Brita and Miriam; son Rex E.; and his grandson Noah. Rex is also survived by his sisters Barbara Johnson of Coupeville and Celeste Nelsen of Everett.

Rex was laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery, Virginia, on Feb. 4, 2010.
