Following a brief illness, Richard Arthur Pascoe passed away on March 14, 2022. Rich was born on February 25, 1946 in Seattle, WA to Will and Annette (Selle) Pascoe. After graduating from Cleveland High School and attending Central Washington University, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966 and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany for 2 ½ years. That same year, he married Rosalind (Kinison); they had two children, Renee (Pascoe) O’Brien and Ross Pascoe. In 1977 Richard married Sharon (Everts) Pascoe and had a daughter, Angela (Pascoe) Shelley. Rich and Sharon later divorced but remained life-long friends and partners. Rich lived for much of the last 35 years in Arkansas, but also enjoyed spending time on Whidbey Island in Washington State.
For the first decade of his professional life Richard was a salesman for multiple Seattle area radio stations beginning with KFKF. He went on to become an enthusiastic businessman launching and running, several successful companies over the years, most in the medical supply fields.
Rich was a passionate outdoors-man and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and beach-combing; he also loved history and ancestry. He was a creative cook known for his signature recipes such as oyster souffle, beef stroganoff, sauces and Cornish pasties. Rich also enjoyed his family’s summertime beach picnic and crab feed on Whidbey Island where he could be found taking the kids for boat rides, picking up Dungeness crab with his bare feet, drinking clam nectar “because – it puts hair on your chest”, eating oysters on the half shell straight from the fire, and watching his grandkids roast hot dogs. Rich was witty and boisterous, known for legendary stories bigger than life. He had a contagious smile, sparkling blue eyes, and an edgy sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger, and sister, Carole. He is survived by his partner, Sharon, brother Ken Pascoe of Whidbey Island, children, grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Pacific Northwest Celebration of Life for Rich will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, 1:00 pm at Whidbey Island, WA residence. Leave message and/or contact the family for location information.
