Richard F. (Dick) Anderson, 83, of Mount Vernon, died Sept. 5, 2009, at Skagit Valley Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 15, 1926 in Sedro-Woolley to Fred and Cecelia (Johnson) Anderson. Richard spent his growing up years in Marysville and graduated from Marysville High School in 1944.
Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret of Mount Vernon; four children, Mark R. Anderson of Burlington, Joanie Cochran of Oak Harbor, Catherine Kester of Mount Vernon and Jeffrey D. Anderson of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen of Marysville and Dale of Clear View, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. at Hawthorne Lawn in Mount Vernon with a reception to follow at the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge.

Peter Howard Burke
God called Peter Howard Burke home on Aug. 23, 2009, when he needed an organist, watercolor artist and music teacher.
Peter was born in Hollywood, Calif., April 30, 1936, to Marjorie and Charles Edwin Burke of Santa Monica.
He leaves a sister, Wendy Buchanan, and nephews Anthony and Christopher, who will miss him. A memorial service will be announced in October for all his friends.
