Services for Rita Jean “Skeet” Denton Willman, 37, of Oak Harbor were held Tuesday at W.W. Rix Chapel, Lubbock, Texas, with Dr. Stan Blevins officiating. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors of Lubbock, Texas. She died Nov. 13, 2002.
She was born Sept. 5, 1965, in Rochester, N.Y., the daughter of Royce O’Dell and Nola Ennen Denton. She graduated from Clovis High School in Clovis, N.M., in 1984. She earned a licensed vocational nursing certification from South Plains College in December of 2000. She had been a resident of Oak Harbor since moving from Lake Dallas in 2002.
She moved to Lake Dallas in 2001 from Lubbock, Texas, where she had been a resident since 1988. She married Eric Willman in 1998 in Lubbock, Texas. She had been employed as a medical technologist and a licensed vocational nurse at various hospitals in Lubbock and Denton, Texas, and Washington. She was Baptist and a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Willman of Oak Harbor; her 3-year-old daughter, Dakota Willman of the home; her father and mother, Royce and Nola Denton of Goree, Texas; five sisters, Janie Denton Cooper of Amarillo, Texas, Joni Denton Whiting of Owensboro, Ky., Jeni Denton Oehler of Frankfort, Ill., Patty Hayes of Camp LeJuene, N.C., and Barbara Denton of Eugene, Ore.; five brothers, Bill Denton of Charlotte, N.C., Tony Denton of Baltimore, Md., Danny Denton of Burlington, Colo., Ronnie Denton of Temple, Texas and Drew Denton of Goree, Texas; her maternal grandmother, Margaret Ennen of Munday, Texas; her father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Willman of Rapid City, S.D.; and her brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Terri Leighton.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
