Robert (Bob) Anson Cairns of Edmonds, Wash., passed away quietly in his sleep in the early morning of May 19, 2021 at home with his wife Roberta (Bobbi) Michie Jensen by his side.

He was born on Dec. 21, 1941, in Longview, Wash., to Douglas and Dorothy Belle Cairns, both now deceased. Bob is survived by his daughters Christiana Anita Cairns and Jennifer Ellinor Fairfax and his sister, Sile Harriss.

Bob was raised in Seattle, Wash., and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960. He went on to get his degree in education from the University of Washington in 1964. On Aug. 8, 1964, he married Randi Anita Pettersen (Cairns) and together raised their two daughters during their 43 years of marriage. Bob taught school in the Seattle School District for nearly 30 years before retiring from teaching. With he and his wife Randi’s love of sailing they owned and operated the Seattle Sailing Club for 30 years. Randi passed away due to illness after 47 years of being together.

In 2009, Bob married Bobbi Michie Jensen. Together, Bob and Bobbi spent much of their time traveling the states, enjoying time with friends and family. Their love of travel took them everywhere whether it be by car, train, plane or boat.
