Robert “Bob” Peters died suddenly at his home in Oak Harbor April 2, 2015, at the age of 75. He was born May 12, 1940, in New Jersey to Waldorf and Eva Peters. He graduated from Woodberry High School in New Jersey and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While on active duty, Bob completed his electrical technician degree.
Bob left active duty service and became a civilian technician working for the Navy Calibration Lab in Agana, Guam; Sigonella, Italy; Subic Air Force Base, Philippines; and finally to NAS Whidbey Island and Oak Harbor. Bob retired from civil service in 2005.
Bob was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Oak Harbor and the Knights of Columbus. He was a very honest man, and the Bible was his guidebook. He loved to play golf, was very organized and always planning for the future. He was fascinated by unusual gadgets and always willing to learn new computer programs.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Crispina; one sister, Carol Douse; brothers John and David; one sister-in-law, Felizarda Rivera; his niece Maria Trinidad and her husband, Jim; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass for Robert Peters was celebrated Friday, April 10, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Pluth, JCL as celebrant. A reception followed at Wallin Funeral Home.
