Roger Anglum: September 24, 1941 – November 5, 2024

Roger Patrick Anglum passed away peacefully at home at the age of 83, on November 5, 2024 after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma.

He was born on September 24, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to James and Lucille (Scalise) Anglum. He was raised in Ayrshire, Iowa, where after the death of his father, he was raised by his step-father, Ralph Pfeifer, along with his brothers and sisters.

Roger enlisted in the US Navy after graduation and served two tours in Vietnam. After his service he attended trade school for meat cutting. He settled in San Diego, CA and worked for several grocery stores before opening his own custom butcher shop.

Roger married the love of his life, Georgette in 1976. Together they raised four children. The family moved to Oak Harbor, WA in 1985.

Roger retired from the DECA Commissary as the Meat Dept. Supervisor in 2001. He and his wife purchased Oak Harbor Dairy Valley, where they began serving his famous BBQ.They sold the business in 2006 allowing Roger plenty of time to pursue his many hobbies, which included volunteering for numerous community organizations.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents James Anglum, Lucille & Ralph Pfeifer, sisters Kathy Richou, Jacky Meadors, Brothers Romaine and John Pfeifer. He is survived by his wife, Georgette, sons Jason (Beth) of Cheyenne, WY, Gary of Oak Harbor, James (Cassie) of Fishers, IN and his daughter, Heather (Luke) of Oak Harbor, his sisters Alice (Joe) of Oak Harbor, Marian (Gary) of Gilbert, AZ and Judith of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11 am.
