Ruby Myrtle Temple—Doss—McKay, mother of Janella Doss Myers, died Nov. 23, 2004, in Careage Nursing home in Coupeville after a long illness.
Ruby was born to Robert and Ella Myrtle Temple March 8, 1908. in Ripley, Tenn. Ruby married Marvin Edward Doss July 15, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas. “Ed” passed away in 1955. Ruby married Henry McKay in Kennett, Missouri in 1957 and Henry passed away in 1979. Ruby moved to Oak Harbor in 1991 after she retired to be near her daughter and family.
Ruby owned and operated a restaurant in Hughes, Ark., for many years and then she later owned and operated three Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios in Kennett, Mo., and Blytheville, Ark., until she retired in 1991.
Ruby is survived by a daughter, Janella Myers of Coupeville, three granddaughters, Suzanne April Facendo of Hopewell Junction, New York, Christi Lea Folkestad of Coupeville, and Sherri Lynn Brown of Oak Harbor, and three great-grandchildren, Tiffany Ann Folkestad, Sean Anthony Brown and Brian Alan Folkestad.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m., at Oak Harbor Southern Baptist Church, Pastor Grafton Robinson officiating.
