Sally Ann Walsh Allen, born on February 9, 1935, in East Lyme (Niantic), New London, Connecticut, passed away on November 1, 2024, at the age of 89. Sally’s life was defined by service, devotion, and a boundless love for her family and community.
Sally’s early years were marked by a career in entertainment, which she pursued for 19 years, from 1939 to 1954. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy on June 9, 1953. In 1957, she married Roy Allen, with whom she built a lasting legacy of love and family. During their time stationed in Alaska, Sally hosted her own television show, Sally Ann’s Kiddie Corner, delighting children and families.
Throughout her life, Sally worked in various fields, including as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and in retail, and she was especially talented in crafts. She lovingly created footstools for each of her grandchildren for their second birthdays, a cherished gift that became a family tradition.
In 1969, Sally joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she became a member and subsequently brought her children into the faith through her example. Her kindness, faith, and zest for life were felt by everyone who knew her.
Sally is survived by her children, Sam (Cathy) Allen, Tacie (Bruce) Bull, Saimi (Ken) Parsons, Andy (Cathi) Allen, and Bondy (Julia) Allen, as well as 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Allen, parents, her three brothers, Richard (Dick), Boyd (Butch), and Michael, and her grandson, Christofer Allen.
The funeral service to celebrate Sally’s life was held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Wallin-Stucky Funeral Home in Oak Harbor, WA. She was laid to rest at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville, WA.
Sally Ann Allen will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warm spirit, faith, and profound love for her family and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
