Sandra “Sandy” J. Lusby, 61, died after a lengthy illness at Whidbey General Hospital on July 26, 2006. Sandy was born in Tacoma on June 1, 1945 to Harvey and Janis Millang. She graduated from Costa Mesa High School and went on to graduate from Waldorf Beauty School in Maryland. She was a licensed beautician in Maryland, California and Florida.
Sandy married Gary Lusby on April 16, 1965 at the El Toro Marine Base in California. Sandy adored both their sons, Michael and Wade. She was an active mom serving as den mother for her son’s Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops. Sandy was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and playing bingo. She loved to water ski and taught swimming for the American Red Cross. In later years, she enjoyed traveling by motor home with the love of her life, her husband and best friend, Gary.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Gary; her sons: Michael (wife Utahi) of Oak Harbor and Wade (wife Lisa) of Florida; four grandchildren that she loved to spoil rotten, her mother, Janis Millang of Coupeville, her brother, Steve Millang of Acton, Calif., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her youngest brother and her dad.
There will be a private family gathering in remembrance of Sandy at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
