Sullivan Wilfred “Bill”

Wilfred “Bill” Milo Sullivan, of Oak Harbor, passed away on July 29, 2007 at the age of 90. He was born Nov. 10, 1916, one of three boys born to Grover and Bertha (Moenck) Sullivan in Duncombe, Iowa. Bill traded in farming for a naval career, serving in World War II, and later managing a refueling company. After retiring, he traveled, collected and faceted gem stones and developed many friendships with his radio hobby.

Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, and pilot. He also was a master woodcrafter, creating beautiful mahogany furniture for his home. Bill was a member of the Masonic and Elks lodges.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol; daughter, Mary; and his brothers. He is survived by his wife, Marge; children Jean Brock (Russell) of Bellingham, Genie James of Spokane, Bert James of Oak Harbor; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Bill’s life was held July 31 at the Elks Lodge in Oak Harbor. Private interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Oak Harbor.
