Suzann Laurie Springle, 59, died peacefully Dec. 27, 2004 at her home in Clinton. She was born June 16, 1945 in San Mateo, Calif., to Carl Bernard and Annie Laurie (Falltrick) Springle.
Suzann was raised in San Mateo County, but moved to Sacramento, where she graduated from high school. She attended University of California at San Francisco where she received her bachelor of arts degree in physical therapy. She worked as a physical therapist for several years.
In 1975 Suzann moved to Washington state. She worked as a therapist for Home Health and Group Health Northgate Clinic. She continued her education and became certified in Hellerwork cranial-sacral therapy.
In 1984, Suzann met Dr. William “Bill” Stanley. She and Bill were married June 23, 1994 in Seattle. She opened a private practice from her home in Seattle. They moved to Mount Vernon in 1997.
Four years ago, Suzann and Bill purchased property at the Maxwelton Creek Co-Housing project on South Whidbey. She and Bill were in the process of building their new home at the time of Suzann’s death.
Suzann was known for her service to others and for her nurturing and comforting. She loved all animals, especially dogs and birds, and gardening.
Suzann is survived by her husband, Dr. Bill Stanley of Clinton, and her mother Annie L. Lord of St. Louis, Mo. One stepdaughter, Susanne Marie Stanley of Portland, Ore., and two sisters, Carla Bassen of St. Louis, Mo., and Joan Morebeck of Lincoln, Calif., also survive.
Suzann requested no formal funeral services be conducted. Cremation was held with private family inurnment to follow at a later date. Memorials to Habitat for Humanity, ASPCA, Humane Society, Maxwelton Salmon Adventure or Hui Ho’olana, Molokai.
Arrangements were entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel.
