Terry Field

Terry V. Field, born July 26, 1935, left this world peacefully at the age of 69, due to heart and kidney failure, Oct. 13, 2004, in Coupeville.

He was born in Rosland and later moved to the Naches area, graduating from Naches High School as senior class president in 1953. In 1956, he joined the Air Force, during the Korean War, and ended his tour of duty in 1960.

He then moved to the California area, but after several years moved back to Washington and in 1983 moved to Whidbey Island where he remained the rest of his life. Mr. Field was involved in the grocery business, but then went into the roofing/waterproofing business and remained in that business for 35-plus years.

Mr. Field and his wife at the time, Sharon, were instrumental in starting the 432 Fellowship Hall in Langley for Recovering Alcoholics in 1984. Although he struggled at times himself, he was always there to lend a hand or help another recovering alcoholic.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents Victoria and Wesley Field, uncle Dave and aunt Betty Moore, brother John Field, sister-in-law Dorel Field and sister-in law Anne Field.

He is survived by his beloved wife of only four months, Aileen Field of Coupeville; daughters Monica Field of Greenbank, and Lori Lamonte and Vicki Field of Sacramento, Calif.; step-children Michael A. Simpier, Matthew J. Simpier, Christopher (Nadia) Nordberg, David Nordberg, and Suzanne Nordberg; grandchildren Eli, McClarin, Bryce, Steven, Bailey, Mike, Mark, Yvonne and great grandson Ryan; brother Robert Field, sister Mary (Dean) Brown and sister Babo Olaine; plus nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A memorial service was held Oct. 18 at South Whidbey Assembly of God.    

Memorials may be made to South Whidey Assembly of God building fund, or a charity of your choice. There will be another memorial in Naches at a later date.
