Theresa Gertrude Faber was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 4, 2014, at the age of 87. She was born March 27, 1927, in Oak Harbor to Frank and Gertrude Lampers, one of nine children, including five sisters and three brothers, and attended Oak Harbor Christian Grade School.

Theresa married Harold Faber in 1946 and enjoyed 44 wonderful years together. Theresa was a wonderful, devoted wife to Harold and mother to her three children, Beverly Wilson (Charley) of Peoria, Ariz.; Marvin Faber (Carol) of Phoenix; and Nancy Van Dam (Ron) of Oak Harbor. Two sisters, Myrtle Balster of Oak Harbor and Nell Donovan of Auburn, Wash., and one brother, Calvin Lampers of Lacey, Wash., also survive. Six grandchildren, Jessica Noriega, Andrea Morrison, Tyson Van Dam, Nicole Hache, Lacey Lang and Aaron Faber, and six great-grandchildren, Brooke, Braydie and Bryce Noriega, Connor and Savannah Lang and Colby Van Dam also survive.

Theresa enjoyed gardening and was known for her beautiful yard and flowers. She loved working in her kitchen making her famous homemade breads and delicious soup. We will all miss her amazing warm cinnamon rolls. Hospitality was also her gift, hosting many dinners for family and friends. She shared her food with many people.

Theresa was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Oak Harbor. She was very involved with Coffee Break Bible Study, Mission Circle and bringing her homemade bread to those who visited the church. She loved playing games and always looked forward to Friday afternoon card playing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude Lampers; her loving husband, Harold; her sisters, Marie Lampers, Gertrude Sullivan and Anna VanderPol; and brothers Jake Lampers and Martin Lampers. We will miss her lively conversations and quick wit.

Visitation for Theresa will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Wallin Funeral Home. Memorial services for Theresa Faber will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at the Oak Harbor Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Randy Beumer officiating. A reception will follow for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mission Fund, Oak Harbor Christian Reformed Church, 1411 Wieldraayer Road, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
