Thomas Robert Bryant passed away on Aug. 1, 2021, at age 59. He was surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 8, 1961, in Monroe, La., to Jackson and Isabel Bryant.
Thomas was one of eight children. He graduated with the class of 1979 from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, Calif. He was married for 38 years to Gina Bryant; they raised two children, Nicholas and Sara.
He was a journeymen plumber for over 35 years, working in Southern and Northern California. In 2006, he moved his family to Whidbey Island, Wash., and started Bryant Plumbing.
Thomas was the most loving father, friend and mentor. He believed in people, lending an ear to listen when you needed it most — all that he’d ask in return was a chance to chat your ear off about his Dallas Cowboys. He loved filling up the Toys for Tot’s bin at Sebo’s every December to ensure every kid got a present on Christmas.
Thomas was a secret Teddy bear with a heart of gold, but he’d be the first to dish out tough love if you needed it. His family, friends and colleagues will miss his guidance, support, and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to one of Tom’s favorite charities: Toys for Tots at www.toysfortots.org, or the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
All are invited to celebrate the life of Thomas at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at Freeland Park. Please bring a mask, chair and a loving story to share, reminisce and grieve together.
Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
