Victor Lee Parkerson died suddenly at his home in Clinton on Feb. 12 at the age of 58. He was born in Aniston, Ala., to James and Shirley (Brooks) Parkerson. Victor lived for a time in the Seattle area, where he was employed by Crowley Marine Services. He began work for the Washington State Ferries and moved to Whidbey about 10 years ago. He left the ferry system after 29 years as a quartermaster.
Victor is survived by his wife Nancy at the family home in Clinton. Victor leaves behind his father James Parkerson and wife Bess Finch of Atlanta; one son Payton Parkerson of Edmonds; one granddaughter Rhiannon Botzet of Lake Stevens; and three stepchildren, Paul Flaherty of Clinton, Janet Flaherty of Edmonds and Rachel Flaherty of Massachusetts; and one brother Brooks Parkerson of Olympia. Victor was preceded in death by his mother Shirley and brother Mark Parkerson and nephew Jeremy, both of Marysville.
Victor requested no formal funeral services be conducted. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation was held with arrangements entrusted to Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
