Wilfred Wilson

Wilfred Alan “Bud” Wilson, 86, longtime resident of Oak Harbor, died May 1, 2005 at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue.

Mr. Wilson was born May 15, 1918, on Friday Harbor to George Edward Wilson and Mary Jane (Buchanan) Wilson. He entered the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. Bud came to Oak Harbor in 1946. He was employed as a commercial fisherman and farmer for many years. He also cut many cords of firewood, which he sold. Bud was a member of the VFW Post No. 7392. He enjoyed working with machinery and was an excellent handyman.

Bud is survived by his four children, David Alan Wilson of Spokane, Catherine Ann Wilson of Westmont, Ill., Sally Jane Wilson-Tull of Oak Harbor and John Edward Wilson of Tacoma; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; also, one sister, Vivian Anderson and her husband Dean of Oak Harbor. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marilyn Violet Wilson in 1936; one brother, Elmer George Wilson in 1974; one son, Andrew James Wilson in 1976; two great-grandchildren; also, one son-in-law, Ronny Tull, Sr., in 2001.

A memorial graveside service will take place at Maple Leaf Cemetery Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
