William â??Willyâ?? Bill Holt

William E. Holt, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle, was welcomed into God’s arms on Feb. 12, 2009, in Everett with his wife Debbi by his side.

Bill was born Oct. 3, 1942 in Tacoma. Bill was a lifetime resident of Oak Harbor, working for Island County in the Oak Harbor Road Department for many years, retiring in 1995 due to a disability. He was known for and was often seen driving his big yellow dump truck repairing, sanding and plowing Oak Harbor roads

Bill is survived by his loving wife Debbi at the family home. He also has a sister Arlien and brother Howard; sons, Roy and James Randall; and daughter Nancy Holcomb, all of Oak Harbor. His 6 grandchildren were his pride and joy. Sada, Brandon, Joey, Kaitie, Mikie, and Jamie will miss him greatly.

Bill was a member of the Oak Harbor Lutheran Church and had served as usher for many years. He had a great sense of humor and so many friends that would often stop by for a visit with him. He had a great love of plants, flowers and the great outdoors and loved to travel and sightsee.

Because of health issues Bill was confined to his home for the last three years. His spirit was always with the Lord. He would say, “We don’t know what’s in store or how the road will bend,” but in the strength of his spirit and the kindness of his heart Bill shared his mind, love and spark.

We will miss his big smile, jokes and gentle touch. We know we will see you again “Willy.” We love you, go in peace.
