William “Bill” Holden Arbuckle, Major, USAF (Ret), age 90, longtime Coupeville, Wash. resident, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019.

Mr. Arbuckle was born on July 13, 1929, in Manhattan, New York, to John and Anne (Holden) Arbuckle. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country honorably for 20 years, retiring as major in 1970. He married Phyllis Gorup on Nov. 18, 1976, in Denver, Colo. The couple moved to Coupeville in 1978.

Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis, at home, four children, Michael Arbuckle, of Breckenridge, Colo., Cameron Arbuckle, of Dillon, Colo., and Patrick Arbuckle and Susan Arbuckle, both of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; stepchildren, Brad Gorup and Michelle Gorup, both of Rohnert Park, Calif.; three step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Lynn and Timothy Arbuckle.

In keeping with his wishes, no service is planned. Arrangements are with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial Funeral Home.
