William Lancaster Gilman, 84, of Coupeville, passed away on April 24, 2008. Bill enjoyed living on Whidbey Island for the past 30 years. He worked in the carpentry field for 50 years. As a young man, he proudly served four years in the U.S Army, three in Europe, Airborne and Air Force.
Bill enjoyed woodcarving, gardening, beach combing and fishing. Many friends and relatives have his works of art from his wood and soapstone carvings.
He was very proud of his greenhouse and vegetable garden production.
Bill leaves behind four children from his first marriage; Lenita Ann of Edmonds, Susan Lynn and Kathy Louise of Everett and Larry William of Spokane. He also has a stepdaughter, Kelly Renee of Seattle, from his second marriage. He also leaves behind his best friend, Ron, who enjoys all the same hobbies as he.
A graveside memorial service for family was held April 29 at Floral Hills in Lynnwood.
