Editor,

What a terrific team the Whidbey Island Fishin’ Club members and guests made during their annual food drive. Results: Out of pocket contributions — $2,601, food purchased — $3,345, delivered to 20 needy South Whidbey families, 33 adults and 61 children, on Dec. 21.

A turkey, ham and 48 assorted items provided food for breakfast, lunch and dinner lasting seven to 10 days.

The club partnered with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots to deliver food and toys to many homes.

Twenty families’ Christmas was made brighter due to the generosity of the Fishin’ Club and the Marines’ Toys for Tots program.

Thank you so much.
