Two Oak Harbor youngsters helped Northwest United FC U9 Black win the Washington Youth Soccer Presidents Cup April 27 and 28 at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.
Levi Walton, 9, and Thatcher Whiteaker, 8, helped NWUFC roll to a 4-0 win in the semifinals April 27. The next day, after the match ended in a scoreless tie through regulation play and two overtimes, Northwest United won in a penalty kick shootout.
The Presidents Cup is one of Washington Youth Soccer’s competitive state level tournaments and featured more than 300 teams from across the state.
