The 12th annual Memorial Day weekend Rock On! 3v3 Soccer Tournament at Fort Nugent Park welcomed 71 teams from around the Pacific Northwest this year.
In addition to 3v3 soccer, the event included Goalie Wars, a one-on-one competition.
The 3v3 tournament was split into 12 divisions, and local teams finished either first or second in seven, winning four:
Boys High School – PROM (Oak Harbor: JJ Mitchell, Kurtis Zylstra, Jordan Shelley, Jose Rios, Adam Nelson).
Adult Red – Van Damage (Oak Harbor: Sean VonPusl, Adrian Mays, Zane Mays, Zach Mays, Brent Thompson).
Adult Black – Net Six and Chill (Clinton: Kevin Flavin, Bennett Richter, Ben Ruesh, George Bundy, Chris Laymen).
Girls High School – Indecisive (Oak Harbor: Caitlyn Torres, Courtney Coker, Ebony Campbell, Gillian Crossley, Cloe Amsler).
Locals finished second in the following divisions:
BU8/9 — Mutiny (Coupeville: Sean Byler, Abram Durham, Jack Hempel, Walden Sagmeister, Colten Smith).
BU13/14 – Rubik’s Cubes (Oak Harbor: Reed Rowley, Ave Salinger, Isaiah Wiley, Fletcher Olson).
BU15 – Pain in the (Gr)ass (Coupeville: Sage Downes, James Wood, Sam Wynn, Jake Mitten, Dakota Eck).
Boys High School – Moist Boyz (Langley: Lake Smith, Ari Rohan, Silas Baptiste, Seth Daly, John Thomas).
Adult Red – Empire (Oak Harbor: Jahleel Vester, Jeremy Vester, Taylor Yancy, Carl Caidic, Mark Johnston).
Girls High School – Your American Horror Stories (Oak Harbor: Jaelyn Ohara, Autumn Coker, Jessica Vester, Danielle Lonborg, Gracie Hiteshew).
Whidbey athletes excelling in Goalie Wars were winners Chaz Purdy (high school) and Kegan Snell (adult) and second place finishers Rowley (U13-14) and Caley Powers (adult).
