The Wildcat United eighth-grade boys and seventh-grade girls finished first in the Northwest Middle School League championship track meet Tuesday, May 19, at Oak Harbor High School.
Wildcat United, a combined team of North Whidbey and Oak Harbor middles schools, also finished fourth among eighth-grade girls teams and third in the seventh-grade boys standings.
The eighth-grade boys scored 110 points to win the 11-team division. Anacortes was second with 93.
In the nine-team seventh-grade girls division, Wildcat United squeaked by Anacortes 103-102 for the team title.
Anacortes won in eighth-grade girls over nine teams with 169 points; fourth-place Wildcat United tallied 46.
Anacortes also won the 11-team seventh-grade boys division with 130 points. Wildcat United’s third-place total was 64.5.
