Eighth-ranked Shorecrest jumped to a big first-quarter lead and cruised to a 77-38 win over the visiting Oak Harbor High School girls basketball team Friday, Jan. 17.
The Scots got 8 points each from Sydney VanNess and Kiana Lino as they went up 27-6 in the first quarter.
Shorecrest led 49-20 at halftime and 62-23 after three quarters.
VanNess finished with 19 points, Lino 18 and Amanda Lee 15 for the Scots, who improved to 10-1 (4-1 in Wesco).
Jasmine Ford sank half of Oak Harbor’s field goals in the game and tallied 15 points. She drained a trio of three-pointers.
Tiana Jackson and Mikhaela Cortez had 5 points; Anna Jones 4; Evelyn Osburn, Payton Parks, Anabel Thayer and Tarah Guy 2 each; and Grace Waite 1.
Oak Harbor (0-7, 6-7) goes to Meadowdale (5-1, 9-3) at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, and then hosts Stanwood (2-4, 4-8) at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.
