Arlington squeaked by the Oak Harbor High School tennis team 4-3 Thursday, Sept. 17, on the OHHS courts.
For the third time in four matches this season, the Wildcats competed in a one-point match. This was, however, the first they failed to win.
All three Oak Harbor points came in the singles.
Jackson Wezeman won 6-2, 6-2 in first singles; Rodrigo Columbo won 6-1, 7-5 in third singles; and Calib Byers won 6-1, 6-0 in fourth singles.
Raymond Paraiso dropped the second singles match 6-0, 7-5.
The Wildcats lost each doubles matchup: 1, Jared Hunt/Matthew Hallahan lost 6-2, 5-7, 6-2; 2, Sidney Thomas/Matt Molitor lost 6-4, 6-1; and Noel Pangilinan/Jose Cabigting lost 6-3, 6-1.
Oak Harbor’s Nathanael Thompson and Trenton Cone won an exhibition doubles match 8-3.
The Wildcats (1-1, 2-2) go to Marysville Getchell (0-1, 1-4) for a non-league match at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
