Bouncing back from a tough loss to Shorewood Tuesday, the Oak Harbor baseball team won 8-3 at Everett Wednesday, April 13.

Wildcat pitcher Gabe Clark survived a rough start and finished with a five-hit complete game.

Everett’s Lucas Contra slugged a two-run home run in the first inning, but Clark held the Seagulls (5-8, 3-4) in check the rest of the way with the help of a strong defense.

The junior right-hander struck out three, walked one and yielded two earned runs.

The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the second to even the score and then tacked on three more in the third. Josh Evans’ two-run single in the third gave Oak Harbor the lead.

Evans finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and Ryan Byrne slashed two doubles to pace the ‘Cat offense.

The two teams meet again in Oak Harbor Friday, April 15, at 4.

The Wildcats (8-3-1, 5-2) go to Lynnwood (1-11, 0-5) Tuesday, April 19, and then host the Royals Wednesday at 4 p.m.
