BC tops Wolves in district title game / Baseball

Bellevue Christian defeated the Coupeville High School baseball team 4-1 in the district championship game Thursday, May 10, at Charles Wright Academy.

The Wolves will play the winner of Chimacum/Charles Wright at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, for second place the final berth into the state tournament.

Coupeville scored a run in the first inning against Bellevue Christian, the Vikings scored four in the second, and that was it the rest of the way.

Matt Hilborn led off the game for Coupeville, singled, stole second and scored on Julian Wellings’ base hit.

A single, hit batter, error and double resulted in four runs for BC in the second.

Hilborn pitched a six-hitter for Coupeville with six strikeouts, one walk and three earned runs.

Daniel Teramoto tossed a four-hitter for the Vikings with three Ks and no walks.

Jake Pease doubled, and Hilborn, Welling and Hunter Smith singled for Coupeville.
