Twelve North Whidbey Aquatic Club members competed in the Pacific Northwest Swim Age Group Invitational Nov. 19 and 20 at the Snohomish Aquatic Center, and all but one posted at least one personal best time.
Competitors were required to have PNS gold time standards to qualify for the meet.
The Blue Heron recorded personal bests in 44 of 56 events.
Ashleigh Merrill, 13, earned NWAC Swimmer of the Meet honors by picking up two firsts, two seconds and two thirds in her six events, all in personal record times.
Nick Shashaty, 8, established a new NWAC record in the boys 8-and-under 50-yard freestyle with a time of 34.9.
Jasmine Borja, 12, and Lecya Santiago, 12, each clocked PRs in their six events and were named NWAC’s Most Improved Swimmers of the Meet.
Lola Chargualaf, 10, achieved her first USA Swimming AAA time with a 1:14.54 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Next up for the Blue Heron is the 14th annual Pacific Coast Swimming Christmas Cracker Invitational Dec. 2-4 in Victoria.
