The North Whidbey Aquatic Club won 26 individual events at the Spring Thunderbird meet May 19-21 in Anacortes.
Thirty-four Blue Heron took part, up from the 23 who competed last year, and most of the more than 200 swims resulted in personal-best times. Forty-one of the PRs clipped 10 or more seconds off previous top times.
In addition, 30 new NWAC shorts-course, top-16 times were recorded.
The Borja sisters, Jasmine and Haley, led the way for the Blue Heron. Jasmine, 12, won seven of eight events and took second in the other. Haley, 9, placed first six times and second twice.
Ashleigh Merrill, 13, recorded six wins, two seconds and a third.
Lindsay Brown, 11, won three events; Robin Zemlo, 12, took two; and Lola Chargualaf, 11, and Chris Shashaty, 10, captured one each.
Top-eight finishes were also recorded by Grace Chargualaf, Kyle Coonan, Madelyn Coonan, Cole Davis, Caitlin Dennen, Leylah Dominguez, Cassidy Drown, Roland Garrett, Gabriel Jimenez, Brandon Melendez, Jewell Nelson, Chloe Nix, Ethan Nix, Abigail Pace, Sara Rhodes, Nicholas Shashaty and Alani Vanderbilt.
