The North Whidbey Aquatics Clubs collected 15 individual and one relay win at the TAC Winter Challenge in Anacortes Jan. 7 and 8.
Haley Borja, who earned NWAC Swimmer of the Meet honors, paced the Blue Heron with five Individual wins, including posting personal best times in six of eight events. She also swam on the winning girls 10-and-under 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Other NWAC winners were Chris Shashaty (50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 200 individual medley), Jasmine Borja (50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke), Lola Chargualaf (200 IM, 100 butterfly), Brandon Melendez (25 free), Lecya Santiago (50 fly) and Kiersten Tyson (500 free).
“A very high percentage lifetime best times recorded,” coach Dick Taylor said, led by Cole Davis (200 free, 2:59.78), Lily Hawkins (100 free, 1:28.81), Ethan Rider (100 free, 1:33.24) and Robin Zeal (200 IM, 2:55.63).
