Eight North Whidbey Aquatic Club swimmers combined to win 18 indivisual events at the Pacific Northwest Swimming Division Meet Jan. 9 and 10 in Anacortes.

In eight swims, Ashleigh Merrill, 12, won seven events and placed second in another.

Lindsay Brown, 10, and Jillian Pape, 15, each won three events, while Patty Miessner, 13, and Chris Shashaty, 9, picked up two wins each. Alana Miller, 10, added the other first.

The girls 10 and under 200-yard medley and 200 freestyle relays set new NWAC records.

In all, the 32 Blue Herons who competed posted 173 personal bests in 234 swims.

Haley Borja, 8, and Merrill earned NWAC Swimmer of the Meet honors.
