The North Whidbey Aquatic Club Blue Herons made waves at the 2025 Marlin Madness, held at the Snohomish Aquatic Center on March 15-16, according to a press release.
Competing against eight teams from across the Puget Sound, NWAC swimmers delivered outstanding performances, achieving personal bests, earning top finishes and demonstrating incredible teamwork.
Meet highlights included Iqra Strawn, who placed fifth overall in the Hexathlon competition for 12-year-old girls, and Jasper McCormick, who finished sixth in the Hexathlon for 10-year-old boys.
Additionally, Jennifer Fortner secured third place in the 9-10-year-old girls’ 50-yard backstroke. Many swimmers achieved personal records, showcasing their dedication and hard work.
“Our swimmers showed great focus and energy throughout the meet, executing with confidence in the skills we’ve been honing in practice,” said Mukunda-Krishna Tyson, coach of North Whidbey Aquatic Club. “We’re incredibly proud of the effort and sportsmanship our athletes displayed.”
The team now shifts its focus to the 2025 SRST West Coast Invitational, looking to build on this success.
